Our Story
The Art Mum
The Art Mum is an Australian owned and operated business, based on the
South Coast of NSW. The Art Mum aims to encourage all children, parents
and carers to engage in creative practices within their home and learning
environments.
The Art Mum was founded in 2018 by Kathryn Bowden. Kathryn is a
practicing Author, Illustrator, Visual Artist, and High School Teacher.
She completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts- Visual Arts, A Minor Degree
in Indigenous Studies and a Diploma of Education- Secondary Studies at
the University of Wollongong in NSW, Australia. She also has certification in
art therapy and creative writing.
Kathryn grew up on a dairy farm on the South Coast of NSW, Australia,
which is the inspiration behind a number of her works. She has a passion for
encouraging children's imaginations and creativity through a variety of
learning pathways. Kathryn is also mum of two farm-loving boys.
Kathryn is the designer, artist and author behind all the products produced
by The Art Mum business.
The Art Mum business has grown successfully and now has a sub-brand
called 'Agriculture 4 kids'. Agriculture 4 Kids focuses on developing
products that encourage learning about agriculture in Australia.
The Art Mum produces and sells children's books, artworks, prints,
educational material, and toys. The Art Mum also teaches art classes and
shares ways to engage children in art.

Australian Owned Small Business
As an Australian owned business, we strive to deliver high quality products that support the local community. All products featured in THE ART MUM page have been designed in Australia by Kathryn Bowden. Where items are not made in house, we source companies that will print, sew and produce our products using sustainable practices.

The Art Mum business uses solar power panels to power their digital devices to assist with Australia's Clean Energy motto. We aim to make sure the packaging used for posting items can be recycled. While we prefer to use cardboard, all our soft plastics can be recycled via your local recycling center.
When buying products off THE ART MUM store, you are supporting a local family and regional community.
We respect and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples on this land in which our products are produced.
